Browns' Baker Mayfield: Downplays foot issue
Mayfield was limited at practice Wednesday due to foot and left shoulder injuries, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
The injury to Mayfield's non-throwing shoulder is one he plans on playing through for the duration of the season, while the foot issue is a newer concern, but something Mayfield said is "nothing major by any means." With that in mind, Jackson suggests that Mayfield's limitations were likely maintenance-related. Mayfield should be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Patriots, but who will be joining him in the backfield is still up in the air. Running backs Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, while Kareem Hunt (calf) remains on injured reserve and may not be ready to return this week.
