Winston (knee) completed 23 of 37 passes for 261 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in Thursday's 43-28 loss to the Falcons. He also gained 14 yards on two rushes and lost a fumble, before exiting midway the fourth quarter due to a knee injury sustained on a two-point conversion rushing attempt.
Winston performed reasonably well despite having to play catch-up throughout the second half, which also led to him puting up his highest number of pass attempts since Week 3. Despite the Bucs' collection of problems, particularly at home, Winston actually has a 9:1 TD:INT ratio over the four games following a forgettable 179-yard, two-interception performance against the Broncos in Week 4. He also reportedly told head coach Dirk Koetter that his knee is fine following the game, although the team's medical staff will naturally provide the final word on that front. Mike Glennon, who hadn't taken a regular-season snap since 2014, completed 10 of 11 passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in mop-up duty for Winston. The 2015 first overall pick's status will likely be updated at some point on Friday, and if the ailment is indeed minor, the team's 10-day layoff before a Week 10 tilt against the Bears could provide enough recovery time for him to suit up for that contest.
