Winston completed 20 of 30 passes for 280 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 28-21 win over the Chargers. He also gained a yard on four rushes.
Winston continues to get it done despite his receiving corps being reduced to fourth- and fifth-string wideouts outside of Mike Evans at this point. The second-year signal caller saw Cecil Shorts exit in the first quarter with a potentially devastating knee injury and later also suffered the loss of third receiver Adam Humphries to a possible concussion. However, Winston pressed on, finding fifth-string receiver Freddie Martino on four occasions, while also honing in on tight end Cameron Brate when Mike Evans struggled to gain separation in the second half. In fact, it was Brate who hauled in Winston's 12-yard scoring dart early in the fourth quarter, a touchdown that eventually proved to be the game winner. Winston has now completed over 60 percent of his passes in five straight games, and his 9.33 YPA Sunday was his second-highest figure in that category this season. He could be in for another busy day in Week 14, as the Bucs continue their playoff push in a home tilt against the Saints that could well prove to be a high-scoring affair.
