The Cardinals signed Butler on Wednesday, the team's official site reports.
Butler has been on the free-agent market since the Chargers released the inside linebacker in early March. While the Cardinals are comfortable with their starting ILB duo of Deone Bucannon and Kevin Minter, the lack of experience behind them was likely the impetus to bring the 27-year-old Butler on board.
