The Cardinals selected Hayes in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 257th overall.
Hayes was a three-year starter at left guard for Oklahoma, providing sturdy protection in the passing game and opening big holes in the run game. It was a bit of a surprise that he fell this far, and he was the second Day 3 offensive guard that the Cardinals picked up, joining Lecitus Smith of Virginia Tech.
