Melton (toe) is considered to be day-to-day ahead of Week 3, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.
Melton sustained a toe injury on his left foot in the second half of the team's 31-7 loss to Seattle on Sunday, and he was unable to return to the contest. He appears to have avoided a major injury, and his status at practice Wednesday will shed a better light on his chances to play Week 3 at San Francisco.
