Everett, who was forced out of Sunday's 13-12 loss to the Chiefs due to a knee injury, finished the 2023 campaign with 51 catches (on 70 targets) for 411 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games.
The Chargers haven't released any official information regarding the severity of Everett's injury, so it's fair to expect that the veteran tight end should be healthy ahead of next season. The 29-year-old wrapped up his seventh year in the NFL with solid figures given his role essentially as a safety blanket for QB Justin Herbert, as he never recorded more than 50 receiving yards in a single game despite seven contests with at least four receptions. Everett is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and will likely draw some interest in the open market if he doesn't re-sign with Los Angeles.
