The Chargers signed Rucci off the Jaguars' practice squad Tuesday.
With both Charlie Kolar (forearm) and David Njoku (fibula) slated to go on injured reserve, the Chargers needed more depth at tight end behind second-year pro Oronde Gadsden. Rucci did not record a catch across four regular-season games with the Vikings in 2025, and he figures to serve mostly as a blocker on offense and a contributor on special teams, with Gadsden being the pass-catching tight end for Justin Herbert.
