Chargers' Justin Herbert: Masterful in signature win
Herbert completed 26 of 38 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Chiefs. He also registered 16 yards on four carries.
The Chargers benefitted from a turnover-prone Chiefs offense as Herbert and company scored 20 points off miscues. The second-year quarterback has picked up right where he left off following his Rookie of the Year campaign in 2020, throwing for 951 yards and a sterling 6:3 TD:INT ratio through three contests while benefitting significantly from a new-look offense that seems designed to primarily move the ball through the air (just 21 designed runs Sunday). The emergence of Mike Williams (7-122-2 in Sunday's win) as a co-No. 1 wideout opposite Keenan Allen has been a revelation and given Herbert a key red-zone target that he simply didn't have last season. At this point, Herbert might simply be matchup-proof in terms of fantasy and certainly should be primed for another great outing next week against the vulnerable Raiders defense.
