Hansen was cut by the Saints on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Hansen was activated from IR on Monday after dealing with a groin injury. The 28-year-old Utah product has just two games of NFL experience and was more likely to contribute on special teams than on defense. He'll now try to catch on elsewhere if he can prove he is healthy.
