Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Struggles in loss to Buffalo
Mahomes completed 33 of 54 pass attempts for 272 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing eight times for 61 yards and losing a fumble in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Bills.
Mahomes struggled mightily against the Bills' defensive front, constantly getting flushed out of the pocket and being forced to complete shorter passes. The decline in pocket protection has been noticeable this year, which could be one of the main reasons we are seeing more flaws in the star quarterback's play in 2021. Despite the slight decline, Mahomes is still posting numbers worthy of starting in any fantasy format, with 298.0 passing yards per game and a 16:6 TD:INT ratio through five contests. Mahomes may have to work his magic against a tough Washington defensive front next Sunday.
