The Raiders released Smith on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Smith was a late addition to training camp, signing Aug. 25 with a little over a week left. The 28-year-old defensive end failed to make enough of an impact to retain a reserve role, as Las Vegas opted to keep Arden Key and Carl Nassib as the primary backups to Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby.
