Colts' Gardner Minshew: Starting at least next four games
Minshew is set to start at quarterback for Indianapolis for at least the next four contests after the Colts placed Anthony Richardson (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
As a result of landing on IR, Richardson won't be eligible to return to action until the Colts' Week 10 matchup with the Patriots. However, with a bye on tap for the Colts in Week 11 and with Holder reporting that Richardson's recovery timeline for his AC joint sprain could range between 4-to-8 weeks, Minshew could have a decent chance at picking up more than four starts, assuming he steers clear of an injury himself. Meanwhile, Indianapolis also signed Kellen Mond to the practice squad, which will provide some additional emergency depth for the quarterback room heading into a Week 6 matchup against Jacksonville.
