Colts head coach Shane Steichen declined to provide an update on Taylor's (thumb) status Wednesday and was non-committal on the running back's availability for Sunday's game in Cincinnati, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Taylor underwent surgery on his right thumb last week, with Colts owner Jim Irsay estimating that the running back would miss two or three games. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network later filed a report Sunday suggesting that Taylor could miss closer to 3-to-5 weeks, which may leave Zack Moss as Indianapolis' lead back throughout the fantasy playoffs. Moss played 94 percent of snaps in an overtime win over the Titans this past Sunday, though he failed to match his impressive production as a starter earlier this season, as he finished with 21 touches for 57 yards. Moss likely will fill in for Taylor again versus the Bengals, even if the Colts aren't quite ready to make any declarations about Taylor's status early in the week.
