McNichols rushed eight times for 68 yards and two touchdowns while catching his only target for six yards in Sunday's 42-14 win over the Cardinals.
McNichols got only nine touches to Brian Robinson's 24, but the backup made the most of his additional opportunities in Austin Ekeler's (concussion) absence. McNichols broke free for a 27-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and capped off the scoring with a seven-yard touchdown run in the fourth. If Ekeler's unable to clear concussion protocol before the Commanders host the Browns in Week 5, McNichols would remain in a change-of-pace role behind Robinson.
