Maher signed a contract with the Cowboys on Saturday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
The Cowboys opted to forgo his two weeks of practice-squad callup eligibility and instead signed the kicker to the active 53-man roster. The 32-year-old made his lone kick in a Week 1 shellacking at the hands of the Buccaneers.
