Prescott completed 10 of 12 passes for 139 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 28-24 preseason loss to the Rams. He also gained 13 yards on two rushes.
The 2016 fourth-round pick was razor-sharp while getting the starting nod in his first taste of NFL action. Prescott leveraged the advantage of making his debut with the majority of the Cowboys' first-string offense, looking good from the outset and connecting with Dez Bryant twice on the opening drive, one for a leaping and contested touchdown by the left pylon. Prescott then came back on his second possession to lay a perfect pass over the shoulder of Terrance Williams down the left sideline for a second touchdown, putting a fitting cap on his stellar performance. While all of the typical caveats regarding preseason performances certainly apply, the Mississippi State product undeniably provided encouraging returns in his first time out.
