Prescott (shoulder) completed 51 of 52 passes during a workout before Saturday's preseason game against the Texans, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports. "He threw with authority and accuracy before the game," Cowboys president Jerry Jones said afterward on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. "If we were lining up against Tampa [Dallas' Week 1 opponent] tonight, he'd be starting, and we'd feel great about it."

Taking the field about 90 minutes before the exhibition contest, Prescott fired the ball around on a variety of short and intermediate routes with Ezekiel Elliott and others acting as his receivers. The QB still hasn't participated in any full team practices since injuring his shoulder in late July, but Saturday's very public performance should quell talk that the Cowboys are overly concerned about his long-term health. Based on this showing, look for Prescott to work his way back into full practice participation in the near future.
