Sprinkle agreed to a one-year contract with the Cowboys on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
While Sprinkle played in nearly every game for a fourth straight year, the 2017 fifth-round pick was primary used as a blocker during the 2021 campaign and caught just three passes for 31 yards. With the release of Blake Jarwin, Sprinkle is elevated to the No. 2 tight end on the depth chart behind Dalton Schultz, though Sprinkle figures to continue serving mostly as a blocker in 2022.
