The 49ers waived Hayes (undisclosed) off injured reserve with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Hayes was set to miss the 2023 season after reverting to the 49ers' injured reserve list on Aug. 13. Now that a settlement has been reached, Hayes can seek opportunities elsewhere once he recovers from his injury.
