The Cowboys cut Thompson on Tuesday, Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com reports.
Thompson appeared in 30 games over the last two seasons for the Cowboys, registering 88 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one interception. The addition of Malik Hooker this offseason made Thompson dispensable. He will likely garner attention from teams around the league in search of veteran depth for their secondary.
