Fountain reverted to the Chiefs' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Fountain has been elevated sporadically in the second half of the campaign. He didn't play a major role in Sunday's wild-card round win over the Steelers, but he was on the field for three offensive snaps and 18 special-teams snaps.
