Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Cleared to practice
The Dolphins have designated Tagovailoa (ribs) to return from injured reserve, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The transaction gives the Dolphins a 21-day window during which the team can evaluate Tagovailoa for a return to the 53-man roster, but he likely won't need the full length of time before being activated. Per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, head coach Brian Flores said that Tagovailoa was able to do some throwing Monday, and the quarterback now appears set to take part in the Dolphins' first Week 6 practice Wednesday in at least some capacity. If Tagovailoa checks out well during practices over the next few days, he could take back starting quarterback duties from Jacoby Brissett in Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London.
