Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Practicing with starters
Tagovailoa (finger) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Head coach Brian Flores said Monday that he expected Tagovailoa to return to the starting lineup Sunday against the Jets, following an effective appearance off the bench in last Thursday's 22-10 win over Baltimore. The Dolphins want to see how Tagovailoa looks in practice before they commit to him starting, as the fractured finger on his left hand apparently is still more of a concern than Jacoby Brissett's recent knee injury (Brissett was a full participant Wednesday). According toDaniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald, Tagovailoa is scheduled to take most of the first-team reps in practice this week after Brissett did so last week, which supports the notion that the second-year quarterback appears to be trending toward getting the start.
