Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Razor sharp in preseason win
Tagovailoa completed 16 of 23 passes for 183 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Dolphins' 37-17 preseason win over the Falcons on Saturday night. He also rushed once for eight yards.
The second-year signal-caller followed up a solid preseason Week 1 performance against the Bears with an even better effort Saturday night. Tagovailoa led the Dolphins on a trio of 11-play drives in the first half, two which culminated in touchdowns. One of those scores emanated from his arm, as the Alabama product connected with Myles Gaskin on an eight-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter. Tagovailoa had a shot at leading the Dolphins to points on his two other possessions as well, but one ended on downs at the Falcons' 14-yard line and a last-gasp 20-yard march just before halftime finished with a Jason Sanders miss on a 58-yard field-goal attempt. Having gotten some solid work in over Miami's first pair of exhibitions, it remains to be seen how much, if at all, Tagovailoa may play in the team's preseason finale against the Bengals a week from Sunday.
