Tagovailoa won't play in Sunday's preseason game against Houston, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Coach Brian Flores said the team will rest most of its starters, including the second-year quarterback. Tagovailoa completed 24 of 34 passes for 282 yards (8.3 YPA) this preseason, tossing one TD and one INT in two games. He'll soon start preparing for Week 1 against New England, backed by a revamped supporting cast that now includes fleet-flooted wideouts Jaylen Waddle and Will Fuller, though the latter is suspended for the season opener.
