Gay popped up on Thursday's practice report as a DNP due to an illness. He was able to return to practice Friday in a limited capacity, but his illness is severe enough for him to be sidelined for Sunday's AFC East tilt. Jackson Woodward and Shaka Heyward are the top candidates to start alongside Jordyn Brooks and Jacob Rodriguez at linebacker. Gay's next opportunity to play is Week 8 against the Patriots on Nov. 1.
