Dean's absence became expected Friday when he was deemed doubtful to suit up. The third-year linebacker will miss his first game of the campaign despite being able to log a limited practice session both Thursday and Friday. Jeremiah Trotter or Oren Burks will likely start Sunday in Dean's stead.
