Watkins has been part of the first-team offense in joint practices with the Jets this week, NJ.com's Chris Franklin reports.

The 2020 sixth-round pick credits offseason work with Atlanta's Calvin Ridley for helping him improve as a route runner. Watkins' progress has been one of the biggest developments out of Philadelphia training camp, with the second-year pro now a real threat to push slot man Greg Ward out of the No. 3 receiver role. Watkins reportedly has been getting a lot of work from the slot, which is where he lined up when he took a screen pass 79 yards for a touchdown in the preseason opener against Pittsburgh.
