NFL Network's Ian Rapoport suggests that the Eagles have no plans to try to trade Bradford, despite the team's acquisiton of the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on Wednesday.
While the move all but assures that the Eagles will draft either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz, Rapoport believes that the team is of a mind to create a situation where their future franchise QB "doesn't have to play for a year (or two)." The Eagles signed Bradford to a two-year, $35 million deal back in March, a hefty pay rate that is certainly not in line with the going stipend for backup or mentor quarterbacks in the NFL.
