Barkley rushed 10 times for 84 yards and brought in two of four targets for 32 yards in the Eagles' 33-16 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Barkley was expected to take even more on his shoulders due to both A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) being out of action for the Eagles, but game script quickly turned against the ground attack. The star back still made excellent use out of his modest opportunities, turning in efficient efforts through both the ground and air with the help of a 59-yard run and a 27-yard reception. Barkley's 12 combined touches were by far his fewest of his first four games as a member of the Eagles, but he should have a good chance of returning to a normal workload with what should be a much healthier offense around him in a Week 6 home matchup against the Browns on Sunday, Oct. 13 after a Week 5 bye.
