The Fantasy football start-sit decisions are always one of the most challenging parts of forming Fantasy football lineups, especially early in the season. If you selected someone like Chris Olave or Evan Engram in 2024 Fantasy football drafts, are you starting them without concern this week, or are there better options to target in the Week 2 Fantasy football rankings? Baker Mayfield was the QB1 in Fantasy football last season, throwing 289 yards and four touchdowns in a 37-20 victory over the Commanders. Does this elevate Mayfield into a top 10 or top 12 quarterback in the Week 2 Fantasy football QB rankings against the Lions, or was his elite performance a product of a weak Washington secondary? Those are important questions to ask yourself when forming a Week 2 Fantasy football strategy. Before you lock in your Fantasy football lineups, be sure to check out the Week 2 Fantasy football position rankings from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

When it comes to ranking players, SportsLine's model beat human experts in Fantasy football for the past several seasons, especially when there were big differences in ranking. Over the course of a season, that could literally be the difference between winning your league or going home emptyhanded.

The same model has a proven track record providing Fantasy football tips, including being ahead of the curve on players like A.J. Brown, Jonathan Taylor, Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, and Jahmyr Gibbs. Anybody who banked on players like those made a run at their league title.

Top Week 2 Fantasy football QB rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top Week 2 Fantasy football QB picks:

1. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: Under new OC Kellen Moore, Philly fans still got the old Jalen Hurts, which is a good thing, in Week 1. He had 278 passing yards, two passing TDs, and 33 yards on the ground. He should be even more productive on the ground in Week 2 as he faces an Atlanta defense which gave up 57 rushing yards to Justin Fields a week ago.

2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: Over his career in Weeks 1-2, Mahomes has a sterling 41 total TDs versus just five turnovers. The big play is also back in Kansas City's offense after it had receiver struggles last year as in Week 1 Mahomes averaged 10.4 yards per attempt, which was his highest in any game since Week 7 of 2022.

3: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: Jackson's 122 rushing yards in Week 1 were his third-most ever, while he also had 41 passing attempts, his fifth-most in an NFL game. That type of volume via his arm and legs gives him lots of avenues to rack up Fantasy points, especially against a Raiders defense that allowed 176 rushing yards in Week 1. See more top QBs here.

Top Week 2 Fantasy football RB rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top Week 2 Fantasy football RB picks:

1. Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles: Any concern over Barkley being overshadowed by other standout playmakers and Jalen Hurts' rushing ability was erased last week when Barkley had 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns while adding two receptions for 23 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown. He was the RB1 in Fantasy football last week and his big-play potential will put him in the conversation for RB1 nearly every week.

2. J.K. Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers: Dobbins was one of the biggest surprises of Week 1 after rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown on 13.5 yards per attempt. He had fewer carries than Gus Edwards (10 compared to Edwards' 11) but Edwards averaged just 2.4 yards per carry on those attempts. Dobbins proved he still has explosive big-play ability despite coming off a torn Achilles and the Chargers play the Panthers, who allowed 47 points last week.

3. Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons: Robinson's usage was a welcomed sight to Fantasy football players as he had 18 carries in Week 1 under a new coaching staff after having at least 18 attempts in just three of 17 games last season. Although Robinson averaged just 3.8 yards per carry, his talent is undeniable after averaging 4.6 yards per carry last season after being selected with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He led all Falcons with five receptions and had 23 touches, 43.8% higher than his 16 touches per game last season. See more top RBs here.

Top Week 2 Fantasy football WR rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top Week 2 Fantasy football WR picks:

1. CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys: He was the WR1 in Fantasy football last season and Dallas returns home for Week 2, which is where Lamb was especially dominant. Lamb averaged 9.1 receptions for 119.4 yards with eight touchdowns over eight home games last year. He had at least 100 yards in five home games, including three games with more than 150 yards at AT&T Stadium last season.

2. Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams: Kupp was targeted on 42.9% of Rams passes last week. He's always been an integral part of the Rams game plan but basically became the entire passing focal point after Puka Nacua's knee injury. Nacua is out again and after having 14 catches on 21 targets for 110 yards and a touchdown last week, the model projects another huge usage from Kupp.

3. A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles: Brown (hamstring) had five receptions for 119 yards, including a 67-yard touchdown reception in Week 1. He was the most targeted receiver (10) after finishing eighth in targets (158) in the NFL last season. Brown is coming off back-to-back seasons of more than 1,400 yards while averaging at least 85 yards per game over those seasons. Brown is a high-floor and high-ceiling play for Week 2 Fantasy football lineups against the Falcons if he suits up. See more top WRs here

Top Week 2 Fantasy football TE rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top Week 2 Fantasy football TE picks:

1. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs: Kelce didn't have a standout Week 1 performance, but it's going to take more than one poor output to remove Kelce from the elite tight end list. He had three receptions for 34 yards in Week 1 but Kelce was TE1 on a points-per-game basis last season. He finished as TE3 overall but he's been TE1 in six of the last eight seasons. The Chiefs play the Bengals and Kelce has more than 55 receiving yards in three of his last four games against Cincinnati with two total touchdowns.

2. Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens: Likely was the breakout star of Week 1, recording nine receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown in the 2024 NFL Kickoff Game and finishing as TE1 on the week. The Chiefs successfully blanketed Mark Andrews and won the game, so that could be a similar strategy the Raiders deploy this week, which could lead to another huge Likely performance.

3. George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers: With many questions about the San Francisco offense, Kittle isn't one of them. He had four receptions for 40 yards last week and with Brandon Aiyuk still getting up to game speed after his extended holdout and Christian McCaffrey battling a calf/Achilles injury, Kittle could be a key part of the game plan against the Vikings on Sunday. See more top TEs here

Top Week 2 Fantasy football defense rankings

Here's a look at SportsLine's top three Week 2 Fantasy football D/ST picks:

1. Jets D/ST: The Jets didn't give up a single passing touchdown in their season-opening loss to the 49ers, and now they'll take on the Tennessee Titans, an offense that gave up three sacks and two interceptions last week.

2. Texans D/ST: The Texans will take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. Chicago's offense didn't generate a single point in its Week 1 victory over the Titans and rookie quarterback Caleb Williams finished with 93 passing yards in his NFL debut.

3. Chargers D/ST: The Chargers are set to play the Carolina Panthers in Week 2. The Panthers scored only 10 points in the opener as quarterback Bryce Young threw for just 161 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. See more top D/ST here.
