Gilbert and the Washington Football Team are now scheduled to face the Eagles on Tuesday rather than Sunday.

The game has been rescheduled on account of Washington's COVID-19 outbreak, which is the reason Gilbert was signed away from New England's practice squad in the first place. The two extra days give Washington QBs Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen some chance of being activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list before the game, but it's still far from a sure thing, potentially setting up Gilbert for his second NFL start. Gilbert was poached from the Patriots on Friday, but most Washington beat reporters seem to think he'd get the nod over Kyle Shurmur (who has been on Washington's practice squad all season) in the event both Heinicke and Allen can't play Tuesday. There's still a lot that needs to be hammered out here.
