The Giants placed Core (Achilles) on injured reserve Wednesday.
Core's move to IR comes as no surprise after reports surfaced earlier in the day indicating that he suffered a torn Achilles' tendon during Tuesday's practice. With surgery likely on tap for Core, he'll presumably miss the entire 2020 season while rehabbing the injury. He'll remain under contract with the Giants through 2021 after inking a two-year deal with the club back in March.
