Jones (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Chargers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Jones has been unable to gain clearance to play through a strained neck and thus will miss his second straight game. As for his replacement under center, Mike Glennon made enough progress through the concussion protocol this week to log a full practice Friday, and coach Joe Judge stated confidence that Glennon will clear the final phase -- an examination with an independent neurologist -- in time to play Sunday, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. According to Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record, Glennon did just that late Friday, giving him another spot start while Jake Fromm will serve as the backup.
