Giants' Daniel Jones: Limited in Wednesday's practice

Jones (ankle) was listed as a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.

The Giants are hosting a jog-through session for their first practice of Week 15, but it's nonetheless encouraging to see Jones taking reps after being unable to practice in any capacity last week. That said, veteran Eli Manning was working with the first-team offense Wednesday, providing an early sign that Jones is likely miss another contest while recovering from a high-ankle sprain. Even if Jones isn't cleared to start Sunday against the Dolphins, coach Pat Shurmur left the door open for the rookie to suit up as the backup quarterback, though Shumur added that such a scenario would still be unlikely, per Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York.
