Lock (hip) will likely sit out of at least three practices, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
The backup quarterback suffered a bone contusion and strained oblique during the Giants' preseason game Thursday against the Lions. Fortunately for Lock, the injury will not require surgery and New York is not adding another quarterback at this time, per Dunleavy. Lock's absence, though, should give third-stringer Tommy DeVito more reps in New York's next preseason contest Aug. 17 against the Texans.
