Schmitz (shoulder) participated in practice Sunday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Schmitz had been sitting out since Monday due to a shoulder injury. He's expected to be eased back into practice, but assuming he doesn't experience any setbacks, Schmitz should be ready to line up as New York's starting center when the regular season kicks off.
