The Giants and Johnson agreed to a two-year contract Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
An undrafted free agent in 2011, Johnson was active for all but one game with the Steelers since making his NFL debut in 2012. However, his usage was scaled back last season due to the presence of Roosevelt Nix, who logged more snaps on both offense (14 versus eight percent) and special teams (55 versus 49 percent). Upon joining the Giants, Johnson's ability to line up at fullback, running back, and tight end should help in the competition with fellow FB Nikita Whitlock.
