Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer replaced Ryan Mallett in the second quarter of the 27-20 loss Thursday night to the Colts, ultimately completing 24 of 31 passes for 312 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
Mallett produced zero points on the first three drives, leading to a benching for the second straight week. Hoyer threw a terrible interception on the last drive, but he otherwise played an excellent game, putting up 20 points on six possessions.
Hoyer will likely be the Week 6 starter, but it will still be interesting to see what Bill O'Brien says in his post-game press conference.
