Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer replaced Ryan Mallett during the second quarter of the Thursday night game against the Colts.
Mallett got off to another slow start, completing 5 of 10 passes for 50 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Benched in the second half of last week's blowout loss to the Falcons, Mallett was again replaced, only this time Bill O'Brien didn't wait until the contest was out of reach.
Hoyer led the team to 10 points on its final two drives of the first half, but seven of those points came on a Hail Mary to rookie wide receiver Jaelen Strong.
