The Jaguars signed Middleton to the active roster Saturday.
Middleton has geared up three times for Jacksonville this year, but he's played exclusively on special teams. His defensive role could grow moving forward, however, as starting safety Josh Jones (chest) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
