Sample is questionable to return to Thursday's preseason opener against Jets due to an arm stinger, John Oehser of Jaguar.com reports.
Sample headed into Thursday's matchup competing for a roster spot. He currently projects as the third strong safety on the team's depth chart. The 24-year-old played in four games from the Jaguars in 2015, and posted eight tackles in the process.
