Cottrell was promoted to the Jaguars' active roster from the practice squad Saturday for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Cottrell will join the active roster for the second straight game to provide depth at running back. He'll likely see most of his action on special teams with Dare Ogunbowale, Ryquell Armstead and Mekhi Sargent already on the 53-man roster.
