The Lions signed Pinkney to their practice squad Monday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Pinkney was waived by the Titans ahead of the initial 53-man roster deadline and didn't land on a practice squad at the start of the season. The Lions currently have two tight ends on their active roster, so Pinkney could operate as a emergency option if one of them goes down with an injury.
