Wilson was released by the Jets on Saturday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Wilson was just promoted from the practice squad Tuesday, but he apparently won't be needed in Week 8. The Michigan product has already been through this process once this season, so he'll likely rejoin the practice squad and wait for another chance.
