Cornell (undisclosed) was waived by the Lions with an injury designation Tuesday.
Cornell will likely go unclaimed and revert to IR once he clears waivers. The 25-year-old was praised by defensive line coach Todd Walsh earlier in the offseason, so the Lions may be happy to keep him on IR and give him an opportunity next season.
