Lawson (back) returned to practice Tuesday, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
Coach Robert Saleh said he's optimistic Lawson will suit up Week 1 versus the Bills, but the defensive end doesn't yet appear to be practicing in full. He has just under two weeks remaining before New York's prime time regular-season opener on Monday Night Football.
