The Jets placed Brown (shoulder) on injured reserve Saturday.
Brown's move to IR means he will have to be sidelined at least four weeks before being eligible to return. The extent of his shoulder injury is unclear, but Brown's absence to begin the season is a devastating blow with fellow offensive tackle Mekhi Becton (kneecap) already ruled out for the season.
