Davis (ankle) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
The linebacker has been on IR since Sept. 1 after suffering the ankle injury in the preseason against the Packers. The team will have 21 days to either activate him or place him back on IR for the remainder of the season. Davis played in 14 games for the Lions -- logging 46 tackles, 0.5 sacks and two forced fumbles -- last year before signing with the Jets this offseason.
